Mr. Kevin Brown is currently serving as a diver for Melka Marine, Inc. He joined the company in May 2002 as a part-time Back-up Diver/Tender and a member of our marine construction crew. During his tenure with Melka Marine he has participated in several marine and land construction projects in the Washington Metropolitan Area utilizing his various skills and abilities. The projects he has worked on range in scope and complexity for a variety of private and public sector organizations. His duties have included serving as a diver/tender on various underwater inspections of bridges and culverts, underwater and top side inspections and repairs to bridges and piers, repair of marine equipment and vessels, construction and repair of boat houses, ramps and piers, installation of sheet piling, rip rap, etc.
 

Prior to joining Melka Marine, Mr. Brown was employed as a Diver Tender/Inspection Diver for Atlantic Engineering, LLC in Kinnelon, NJ, as a Salvage Diver for Handon Diving Services, Inc in Washington, DC and as a Dive Instructor’s Assistant for Sea Ventures in Fairfax, VA.
 

Mr. Brown’s skills and abilities include surface supplied air diving, mixed gas diving, underwater/topside welding and burning, inland diving operations, offshore diving operations, commercial SCUBA, underwater explosives, salvage operations, structural inspections, marine wildlife preservation, non-destructive testing (Ultrasonic Testing Level 1), equipment maintenance, crane operations signaling, job hazard analysis, record keeping, etc.
 

Mr. Brown has been trained in Melka Marine’s Safety Program including Diving and Confined Space Entry Procedures. He has also received training on hazardous materials awareness, structural underwater inspections, welding and underwater cutting and Standard First Aid and Adult CPR.
 

Mr. Brown holds both an Association of Diving Contractor International (ADCI #5460) and Association of Commercial Diving Educators (ACDE #3011) cards.
